Our beautiful country was one of the first to portion off part of its land to be preserved for the wildlife, and for future generations. Yellowstone National Park, signed into law in 1872, would be the first of many such parks spanning the entire nation.
And though everyone should visit as many of our national parks as they possibly can to see all that they have to offer, we now live in a technological age. Our phones now connect us to people, organizations—and to places! With the uproarious success of Instagram, it’s no surprise many of the nation’s best national parks have developed their own presence.
So instead of tapping away at Angry Birds during your break (or whenever else you happen to get that phone out), why not hop on Instagram for a quick hit of nature? Naturally, a photo can’t compare to… well, nature—but that doesn’t mean a beautiful photo or two can’t help bridge the gap between outings!
To help you find your way, we’ve picked out some of America’s best national park Instagram accounts. Just take a look and feel free to follow your favorites to keep up-to-date on the passing seasons in that beautiful wilderness.
