There is a less-known breed of creator out there, a type as dedicated to travel as they are to their work. They are the expat-preneurs, and their name derives from “expat” (a shortened form of expatriate) and “entrepreneur” the name give to today’s innovative new business minds.
But what exactly are expat-preneurs? In essence, they are business-oriented minds who look to nations abroad for their endeavors, whether those end up being online design startups, stores, or other types of projects.
The expat-preneur, a close cousin of the digital nomad, uses their laptops and the internet to enable themselves to work from almost any beach in the world and to find entrepreneurial opportunities in countries they may have never even visited before.
These working travelers take their love for adventure to new heights, and find profitable ventures that allow them to sustain their dream lives abroad. Some choose to simply relocated permanently, while others base themselves in new countries every month with no permanent place to call home at all.
They range wide demographics and are scattered in all climates around the world. There truly is no archetypical expat-preneur. In fact, there may not even be two alike!
